Regional Homelessness Forum Event …

Firstly, thanks for your patience in waiting for this site to be updated.

Since the first ever Forum event on 1 February 2006, the Regional Housing Board has agreed to fund a Regional Homelessness Strategy to identify the regional and sub-regional priorities for preventing homelessness and improving services for homeless people. Information on the preferred bidder and progress is contained in latest news which can be found on our About page.

This strategy will inform the Regional Housing Strategy when it is updated next year

This site will be updated on a more regular basis, particularly as user engagement is a fundamental part of the issues to be addressed and we hope you'll put your tuppence worth in.

East Midlands Regional Homelessness Strategy
The Centre for Urban and Regional Studies (CURS) has been working with the East Midlands Regional Homelessness Forum to develop the first regional homelessness strategy for the East Midlands. The draft version of this is now available to download.

Views are sought on these proposals for implementation of the strategy together with the main recommendations. Responses should be sent by email to r.o.rowlands@bham.ac.uk using the subject line “East Midlands Regional Homelessness Strategy” by March 30th 2007.

Stakeholders Conference - March 28th
CURS, with the East Midlands Homelessness Forum, is convening a one-day stakeholders' conference to discuss the draft regional homelessness strategy and begin the process of action planning. Further details can be found on this flyer.

Response to the Regional Plan
The East Midlands Regional Assembly launched the Draft Regional Plan (the Regional Spatial Strategy for the East Midlands) for consultation on Thursday, 28 September 2006. Consultation closed on 20 December. The Regional Homelessness Forum's response to the Plan can be accessed here.
